About this site

Wyndham Farm Certificated Location is a five van Caravan and Motorhome Club CL on a working farm at Silton, about 2 miles north of Gillingham in north Dorset. The Club lists it as open all year on roughly one acre, with grass and hardstanding pitches and 16 amp electric hook up, and like every CL it takes Club members only. Views run out to the chalk downlands, and there is a walk from the site to Judge Wyndham's ancient oak. Stourhead, the National Trust estate, sits about 3 miles north, Gold Hill at Shaftesbury is around 6 miles away, and Stonehenge, Longleat, Salisbury and Sherborne are all day trip distance, with the Jurassic Coast about an hour by car. The Club listing covers a dog walk from the site, an information room, recycling and good TV reception, and shows no toilet or shower block, so bring a van that is self sufficient. Wyndham Farm will not suit anyone wanting a facilities block or entertainment, and it does not take tents. What stands out is the quiet: a farm field in the Gillingham countryside, with a bus stop within a mile and Gillingham railway station within 5 miles if you want to leave the car. Open all year, from £20 a night for a pitch and two adults, booked with the owners by phone or email.

Good to know

Do I need to be a Caravan and Motorhome Club member to stay at Wyndham Farm?
Yes, Wyndham Farm is a Certificated Location, so it takes Caravan and Motorhome Club members only. Certificated Locations are small five van sites, and this one is listed at around one acre with a mix of grass and hardstanding pitches. Booking enquiries go to the owners by phone or email.
Are dogs allowed at Wyndham Farm?
Yes, dogs are welcome and the Club listing shows a dog walk from the site itself, so you do not have to drive anywhere for the first walk of the day. Wyndham Farm is a working farm, so keep dogs under close control around livestock and follow the owners' instructions.
Is Wyndham Farm open all year?
Yes, the Caravan and Motorhome Club lists Wyndham Farm as open all year. Earliest arrival is 1pm, latest arrival is 9pm and departure is by midday. Contact the owners by phone or email before you travel, because booking enquiries are handled directly by the site rather than centrally.
How much does it cost to stay at Wyndham Farm?
The Club listing shows a price from £20 a night for a pitch plus two adults, effective from 1 January 2025. Electric hook up is available at 16 amps, and pitches are grass or hardstanding. Confirm the current rate with the owners when you enquire by phone or email.
Can I take a tent to Wyndham Farm?
No, Wyndham Farm is a Certificated Location for caravans and motorhomes rather than a tent site. The Club lists grass and hardstanding pitches with electric hook up and no toilet or shower block. If you want to camp under canvas near Gillingham you will need a different site.
