Why campers love it here
About this site
The Clothiers Arms is a traditional village pub near Huddersfield that offers motorhome and campervan stopover pitches, not a full campsite. It sits in Stocksmoor, a small village in West Yorkshire about 6 miles south of Huddersfield, with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park around a 15 minute drive away and Holmfirth and the edge of the Peak District within easy reach. The stopover is aimed at self contained motorhomes and campervans rather than tents or touring caravans, and space is limited to a few vans in and around the car park. In keeping with the pub stopover idea, there is an expectation that you eat or drink in the pub, and overnight parking is generally free on that basis. This is basic overnight parking rather than a serviced pitch, so arrive self sufficient. Because space is tight and events sometimes use it, phone ahead before you travel. The pub itself is dog friendly and long established, with home cooked food, local ales, an open fire in winter and a decking area in summer. This is a handy one night halt for touring West Yorkshire, not a base for a long family holiday. Contact the pub directly to confirm the stopover and current arrangements.
