About this site

Green Farm Certificated Location is a five van, members only site run for the Caravan and Motorhome Club, set in the tiny hamlet of King Sterndale about 3 miles from Buxton in the Derbyshire Peak District. Being a Certificated Location, it holds no more than five caravans or motorhomes and has no tent pitches, so expect a quiet, back to basics stopover rather than a busy park. What lifts it is the view: pitches look out across the Wye Valley towards a cluster of Grade II listed limestone barns, and walks lead straight from the gate into Wye Dale, Woo Dale, Chee Dale and Deep Dale. On site things stay deliberately simple, with drinking water, waste disposal, battery charging and recycling but no electric hook up, so you will want to arrive self contained. Green Farm works best for Club members touring by caravan or motorhome who are after calm nights and walking from the doorstep. The Monsal Trail and Midshires Way are both close, bike hire waits at nearby Blackwell Mill, and Buxton's opera house, Pavilion Gardens and Poole's Cavern are only a short drive into town.

Good to know

Who can stay at Green Farm?
Green Farm is a Certificated Location, so it is open to Caravan and Motorhome Club members, though you can usually join to book. It takes a maximum of five caravans or motorhomes at a time, which keeps it small, quiet and uncrowded throughout the season.
Can I pitch a tent?
No, Green Farm does not take tents. As a Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location it is set up for caravans, motorhomes and small campervans only, with space for just five units. Tent campers will need to look at other sites around Buxton.
Is there electric hook up?
No, there are no electric hook ups at Green Farm. Facilities are simple, with drinking water, waste disposal, battery charging and recycling, so you should arrive self sufficient. This keeps it a peaceful, low cost base for touring the Peak District dales.
How far is it from Buxton?
Green Farm sits at King Sterndale, about 3 miles from Buxton. From there you can quickly reach the opera house, Pavilion Gardens and Poole's Cavern, while dale walks and the Monsal Trail start close to the site for days out on foot or by bike.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes, dogs are welcome, with excellent walking straight from the site down Wye Dale and the surrounding dales and along the Monsal Trail. Keep them under control around the farm and any livestock, and you have miles of quiet countryside on the doorstep.
